Did you know? Following the Allied landing at Anzio on January 22, 1944, the Sturmpanzer-Abteilung 216 battalion was relocated to the area in early February. This unit was armed with 28 Brummbars and tasked with participating in the planned counterattack against the Allied beachhead, codenamed “Unternehmen Fischfang.” Despite their efforts, this operation did not achieve its intended goal. Nevertheless, the battalion continued to serve in Italy for the duration of the war.
