To enhance the Panzer III’s performance on rough terrain, they incorporated a gripper bar into every track link. Additionally, a 1 cm tall tooth was introduced at the center of the front drive sprockets. Its primary functions included guiding the track and, significantly, preventing any potential issues with the tracks dislodging when navigating through muddy landscapes.
