Did you know? In response to the USAAF bombing of Schweinfurt in September 1943, the Ausf G.’s commander cupola underwent a modification. Originally equipped with periscopes and designed to rotate, it was altered due to the shortage of ball bearings. As a result, the cupolas were welded onto the tanks instead of being able to rotate freely.
